HP Labs Print and 3D Lab is searching for ambitious, talented research scientists to join in our journey to revolutionize digital manufacturing. We are recruiting talents for the 3D Printing Yield Optimization research line that covers:
  • design for additive manufacturing (including generative design, AI-driven design automation),
  • digital factory management,
  • production optimization, and
  • computational modeling of the 3D printing process.
We are looking for researchers specialized in Material science modeling and simulation and 3D computational geometry and computer aided design. See our candidate profiles listed below. If you believe you fit one (or both) of them, we’d love to hear from you!

Position 2 Material science modeling and simulation.
Requirements:
  • PhD from a reputable research group in the areas of applied physics, material science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or other relevant disciplines. 
  • Excellent theoretical foundation in material sciences for relevant materials of interest (polymer and metal).
  • Sizable research background (PhD thesis or publications) on modeling material design through simulation/processing (to achieve desired mechanical behavior).
  • Proficient in using commercially available modeling and simulation software.
  • Sufficient practical programming skills, and willing to learn and improve upon it. 
 
Desirable skills (big pluses):
  • Programming skills in C++.
  • Background in scientific computing (e.g., computational fluid dynamics).
